News...

Ok guys....get excited!!!!!  I FINALLY have purchased a website!  Remember when I talked about taking those risks a while back?  Well, this is one of them.  I am working on getting it launched here in the next few months.  It is a little more difficult than I thought.....but it's coming along :)  I can't believe that almost a year ago I was dreaming of this and thinking it was absolutely impossible.  But yet, here I am :)  Thank you all for your support so far and keep an eye out for my website to be launched!!!

And since I can't leave without a photo, here is a sneak peak of an awesome birthday party I shot for Bryce's (or B-$ as his family calls him!) 1st birthday!!

Happy Wednesday!

Lindsey & Chad: Wedding!

Maybe you remember Lindsey & Chad's story from their engagement session, but if not here is a refresher :)  Basically, they met on Facebook!  Yup, good ole social media :)  Chad had just started school at Indiana Wesleyan (online) and wanted to find some classmates to connect with.  And then BOOM.  Up pops Lindsey--the rest is history!

They were such troopers on their wedding day seemingly it was one of the HOTTEST days EVER.  They stayed looking wonderful but I can't say the same for myself....ha!

They decided to have a first look, which I always recommend!  It gives you both time to relax but more importantly more intimate time for portraits! :)

Officially married!! :)

This was pretty cool to see!!

Now time for some more portraits with the newlyweds!

So gorgeous Linds :)

They remembered how to work it :)

Thank you guys so much for having me be apart of your special day!! :)  I had such a good time and I wish you guys the best for years to come!

Love of my life

Within minutes of meeting Daniel the first time, he had me smiling more in that1 minute than I had in 2 years.  I knew instantly that something would come from this relationship.  Whether it was a close friendship....or marriage...which is what I was hoping for :)  Throughout the almost 4 years I have known him, he has been my best friend, my comedian, my shoulder to cry on, my rock.
The man who, while brushing his teeth, will jump on the bed and dance around :)
The man who's apologies are song parodies :)
The man who works hours upon hours just to provide for his family
The man who loves our dog as much as me :D
The man who would do anything to make me smile :)

All I can say is..... Happy Anniversary babe, it's been the best 2 years of my life!

Devon & Nate

A few weeks ago Joel Cookston invited me to help him for a wedding in Indianapolis.  Now, if you don't know Joel, you should.  even though I have only met him 1 time...he is possibly the most positive and encouraging person I have ever. met.  He is a very established photographer, shooting all kinds of high-end weddings.  So, needless to say...I was VERY nervous being his second shooter!  But from the very first conversation we had, he made me feel like I could do anything.  He didn't "frown" upon my used equipment, he didn't talk down to me.  I can not tell you how comforting this was to me.  So if you are looking for an experience photographers....see Joel :)

So back to the pictures :)  The special day of Devon & Nate!  If these 2 were more in love....they would be cupid him/herself!!!!  They also decided to do a First Look which gave them optimal time for intimate portraits and let me just say, we got some awesome shots :)

New Things!

So new things are happening here at Courtney Howell Photography :)  I have finally made the plunge and purchased a website!  This is a HUGE step for me.  I have learned from so many in this industry that it's about taking risks.  Not the kind of risks that are foolish--but the ones that help you follow your dreams.  The risks that throw us into a whole new way of life.  The way of life that we have dreamed of.

I can see God working in so many things in my life right now.  If I could only stop being so negative about life and see the beauty in God's plan.  It's just because everything is out of my hands......control.  I am losing control.  Why do I always have to have control over everything?  That is what God is trying to get through my very think skull right now.

So stay posted for my website to be launched soon :) And just remember that if you have a dream....don't keep it a dream.  Pursue your dreams.

And it's not the same without a photo and since Daniel and I's anniversary is around the corner, here is a photo from our engagement session in 2009 :)

Happy Tuesday! :)
